Lenten Season Opens with Ash Wednesday Meditation, Prayer and Communion
Wednesday, February 9, is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten season. As in recent years, our Sanctuary will be open from 5:30 to 7:00 in the evening for a time of quiet personal prayer and meditation, accompanied by soft harp music. As you feel so moved, please come forward to receive personal Holy Communion. Our second graders study about Holy Communion in Sunday School, so this might be a great time for them to take Communion with their families. At CUCC we practice “open Communion,” meaning that any Christian who finds meaning in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is welcome to partake of the the Communion table, without regard to age, denominational or church affiliation, etc. For this evening, arrive between 5:30 and 7:00 pm, and leave as you are ready.
