From Council President Nancy Scorby:
Dear CUCC Members and Friends,
It is with sadness that I inform you of Pastor Suzy Daly’s plans for resignation. Church Council accepted Suzy’s letter of resignation at our October 12th meeting, and her last day will be Dec 31st, 2015. Her 15 years of Ministry have been a joyful blessing to all of us, especially our youth.
Please know that your Church Council and Personnel Committee have been in communication, and have meetings planned on how we move forward in 2016.
Sincerely,
Nancy Scorby,
Council President
Rev. Suzy Daly’s letter of resignation:
October 8, 2015
Dear CUCC Council:
As some of you know, Mike and I have been discerning God’s call on a parallel course to CUCC’s. For the past few years I have been feeling moved by God to focus more on my family’s need of me. As Mike and I discussed options to explore we began to hear God calling us to serve together (in whatever form that may be) and to be a “one church” family. We are excited for what God has in store for our shared ministry and our family’s future.
My 15 years of ministry with CUCC have been filled with so much joy and growth for both me and this congregation. I could not have asked for a better first job out of seminary, a more enjoyable staff situation, nor a better ministry philosophy and leadership style, provided by John Rodgers. I could not have been better blessed to work with so many amazing volunteers in our youth ministry program, especially Jeff Graham. Most of all, I could never fully put into words how deeply life changing it has been for me to journey in faith with so many amazing children and youth. It’s been a privilege and an honor.
This congregation has truly been a gift in my life, and I thank you for the community, the love, the fun, the laughs, and the acceptance and encouragement so that I could always be my authentic self as your minister. My call here has been outstanding. I feel very blessed to have had so many fantastic memorable years in this church family. I especially thank you for giving my children, Brendan, Connor, Chloe and Phoebe, such a meaningful, safe and fun church home for all their years.
I know there are many ways that I could continue to serve CUCC but with the natural transition coming in January I feel I need to step back and focus on my family and where God continues to call me. It is impossible for me to imagine adding new directions to what I do when I am fully aware of the changing nature of my call and our goal of focusing on our family and health. I sincerely wish CUCC well on its new journey forward. It is with a heavy and happy heart that I share with you my intent to step down from the position of Associate Minister effective December 31, 2015.
I sincerely thank you for your support and love.
Faithfully,
Rev. Suzy R. Daly
