CUCC is ready to begin the search for a new Associate Pastor. This past winter, the Church Council
formed a Staffing Strategies Task Force (SSTF) to evaluate our staffing organizational structure and
consider our future ministerial needs. These lay leaders, working in conjunction with the Senior
Pastor, developed a vision for a vibrant ministry program. It was determined that our need for a
full-time Associate Pastor should be a key and immediate recruitment task in order to achieve our
long term goals of building our ministry for children, youth and families.
At its May meeting, Church Council authorized Council President Tom Palansky to form a search
committee that should be comprised of diverse members of the congregation who will meet to
finalize search plans, cause the position to be posted with the UCC ministry opportunities center,
review applicant profiles, interview potential candidates, and eventually recommend one candidate.
The time commitment for this process cannot be minimized, but promises to be a rewarding
experience for the search committee members.
You may nominate yourself or another member of the congregation. The person nominated must
be a member of CUCC. If you are nominating someone other than yourself, you should discuss the
nomination with that person to confirm their interest and ability to commit their talents.
You may fill in the nomination form (below) online and it will be submitted electronically. If you
would prefer, paper forms are available in the church office and should be submitted in a sealed
envelope addressed to Tom Palansky, Council President.
